This is on topic because it deals with names.

Hey David, is your old Bored name "Kurtz" taken from the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad? I'm reading the book in English class and it reminded me of your old name. And in the book, Kurtz is also half-French. Just wondering.

And no, Kurtz refers to Colonel Kurtz (damn am I obsessed with colonels or what ?) played by Marlon Brando in apocalypse Now. This guy just fascinated me cuz he was at the same time a bully and a wise guy. And his theory about horror was super cool...
The first time Willard (martin sean) hears from him it's on a tape and you can hear Kurtz talk about his dream of a snail crawling along a razor blade... yummy

Well, you kinda are refering to the Kurtz in the book I'm reading in an indirect way, because that movie was loosely based on Heart of Darkness.

Also Kurtz is a badly chosen name for a half french guy, since it's a german name (kurtz = short in german... yeah... who cares?)
