i want to make a cd for my friend who is away at uni, but i can't think what to put on it.
he doesn't really like emo/punk/hardcore/whatever but is into stuff like smashing pumpkins, foo fighters, the smiths and morrisey, air, radiohead, and jeff buckley.
i like all that too and want to include it, but i also want to introduce him to some new stuff that is somewhat similar to that, and that he will enjoy.
any suggestions?

...while you're at it maybe some Teenage Fanclub...and some Smoking Popes (kinda pop-punk with Morrisey sytle crooning)...

If all else fails screw the mix CD and get him some porn.

otherwise, thank you all. i'll check all the ones i haven't heard out. i think i'll be missing muse, the strokes and coldplay out, but thanks for the input.
