Well, I have to do this survey for school and stuff, so I would be really grateful and forever be indebted to anyone who answers this short questionaire. I need at least one Republican *coughcoughPaulcoughahemcoug* and one Democrat to answer. So help me out! Please? I love you. The Questions: 1. What are your reasons for supporting the party that you belong to? 2. What are the party beliefs that you most agree with? Are there any that you do not agree with? 3. How do you feel about the growing number of voters that classify themselves as independent voters? 4. How do you feel about terms such as "liberal" and "conservative" and how they apply to political parties? Add extra comments if you like. Thanks!

really briefly here...1. What are your reasons for supporting the party that you belong to? i support the republican party. for the reasons listed in Q #2. 2. What are the party beliefs that you most agree with? Are there any that you do not agree with? the republican ideals. smaller government -> lower taxes -> more money for ME. thats basically it. i dont agree with some of the parties social viewpoints. basically, i like to say that im financial conservative and socially liberal. 3. How do you feel about the growing number of voters that classify themselves as independent voters? good for them. i dont really think it matters what they classify themselves as as much as it does where they stand when they vote. as bullet tooth tony says "you can call me susan if it makes you happy" 4. How do you feel about terms such as "liberal" and "conservative" and how they apply to political parties? eh. i think theyre the old guard in regard to political adjectives. theyre very broad when applied to an entire party, and this can be somewhat misleading sometimes.

1. What are your reasons for supporting the party that you belong to?I support the Republican party because, in part, it is the party of my parents and they have had some influence on my political perspective. I also tend to agree with the 'less government' argument, oh and I like guns and world domination. 2. What are the party beliefs that you most agree with? Are there any that you do not agree with? Guns and world domination. Less government, which is basically more power at the state level, and less big buerocracy (sp). I suppose I don't agree with the staunchly anti-abortion people, but thats not all republicans, or the whole republican party. Oh and I think an Elephant is way better than a jackass (donkey) for a mascot. 3. How do you feel about the growing number of voters that classify themselves as independent voters? Swell. By not labling themselves, they have inturn labeled themselves! hurrah for circular thinking! 4. How do you feel about terms such as "liberal" and "conservative" and how they apply to political parties? I think they dont really apply to the parties as much as to the individuals or groups within the party, since there can be liberal republicans and conservative democrats. Politics is gay man, really gay. [ February 24, 2002: Message edited by: NSA ]
