Shit happens. Sorry for you, but the older you get the more you'll get such sad news.

But people don't really die, they just move away for a infinitely long time.
I think the same feeling happens with people you don't see any longer cuz you've fought and torn away one from the other.

I'm sorry Norman. You've been to more funerals this year than I have been in a lifetime. Anyway, I am going to a memorial service for my friend next week. Get this...his mother decided to have it at a bar! I understand that she wanted to keep it light and make it more of a celebration, etc. but I find it a little disrespectful and not the appropriate place for people to find closure. Not to mention, one of the reasons he committed suicide was because his drinking interfered with his depression meds.
By the way, tomorrow would have been his 28th birthday.

Indeed, that's awful and gross. Do they have express funerals in Vegas too ? (like you can rent fake people to moan over with you)

i could see why its at a bar.

of course, im Irish.

the thing about that, irish funerals are quite the party. not the actual burial ceremony, or the viewing, but the memorial service and whatnot. an uncle of mine died recently, and i was at his memorial last weekend. there was a party afterwards and massive amounts of food, beer, wine and liqour. everyone was getting well pissed and, its said that it is the way he wouldve wanted. but still, everytime I have been to a funeral (burial aside), there has been much drinking and merry making.

i hate you.

I know that drinking is an essential part of funerals for me. Not this one though, I am skipping it. Afterall, I will only remind most of what brought about the occasion anyway. The drinking and what not. Besides, I feel no need to attend my 10th funeral in ten months.
