so i kinda got guilted into doing this national day of silence thing...to call attention to the oppression of LGBT youth...and i've only been silent for 2 hours now and it's soooo tiring.
i feel like a retarded mime. and no one can read my handwriting. it is really really hard to be quiet!
all my friends are excited though...they can insult me and i can't talk back. my friend ashley spent the first 5 minutes of chemistry today telling me that i'm stupid and ugly. it was wicked funny...she's trying so hard to piss me off to the point where i lose it and break the silence or whatever, but she's really not very effective. heeheehee.

I'm taking this really annoying gender studies class. And I'm convinced the whole class is composed of lesbians, staunch feminists, 4 guys, and a few people like me who got suckered into it. Yesterday one of the girls mentioned the National day of silence, and how "the shirts came in." And the next thing I knew, like 5 girls were like "CAN WE SEE IT! OOOOO. NICE!" And then the whole class was like "WHERE CAN WE GET ONE!" I guess to participate in this dealie that you gotta wear the shirt. I dunno. It was more annoying than I am describing it. I should probably drop that class.

i'm doing it too, but by my own free will. you don't have to wear *the shirt* to participate. i find it annoying that people try to get you to talk by poking you and saying things like "if you aren't a stupid whore, say ay!" whatever. i believe in it, so it's all good.

i never got a shirt...only a sticker.
i didn't do too well at being quiet. i tried really hard, lasted until the end of classes. (it was a 1/2 day). but i'm hoping that the like, 20 of us or something that participated helped provoke thought.

What the heck is someone whos Lesbian & Gay & Bisexual & Transgendered? Sheesh. Lets see... A Lesbian Gay person.. is straight.. but a straight bisexual person does both.. but a bisexual transgendered person does the opposite.. so..
Wait are you being silent for straight kids everywhere? Im lost!

in high school, they would do these days once a year, but it was to raise awareness about how drunk driving kills. all the kids who signed up were "dead" and would wear all blank and not speak all day. I remember that one year they actually brought wrecked cars to school and set them up to look like accidents too. whee.
I actually spent a whole weekend waitressing as a mime once, and it was interesting. managing to serve a bunch of people without talking to them and still getting tips is not at easy task.

, Paul... "youth" is plural. replace it with "people." lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender PEOPLE. get it now? the point of the silence is to call attention to the fact that many lgbt youth have to "keep quiet" about their life choices because it is often not considered acceptable. we were mimicking that silence, metaphorically, to call attention to the issue. i think it works... soooo many more people ask you what your cause is when you're mute than when you're wearing a shirt with a peace sign on it or something.

I got to see two really hot lesbians make out once when a buch of my friends (of both genders)and I went to a gay club here in Sac...best club I've been to...really generous with their pours (lot's of alcohol in the drinks) and everyone is hella (yes HELLA) laid back...no one even messes with you if they know you're straight...they had some good music going too...
But anyway...yeah...I got to see two really hot lesbians making out like there was no tomorrow...sweet!
...on a side note, I didn't get hit on...I dunno whether to be relieved or slightly offended
