*rings bell*Norm, I have come to find out the latest going-ons in your product catalog. A couple of friends of mine were thinking of throwing their money at Apple's direction, and I suggested that we go through you instead. Specifically, I want the latest and greatest on those Mini iPod contraptions. As I understand, MSRP is about $249. Have you got anything buzzing and beeping below those lines? Just to provide a number, hows-about the pink mini, model # M9435LL/A. Also, though I don't intend to make the purchase any time soon, I am merely curious about the best deals in Apple Powerbooks. Probably a 12" Superdrive Powerbook. I imagine the Apple Protection Plan's price doesn't change, but as I was advised that the APP is actually worthwhile in the long-run with their laptops, I'll ask about that, too. Sorry, can't find a model #. So, hoping that you read this, thank you, Norm.

The mini is.. SMALL!And as we all know, its not the size that counts.. its.. the.. usefullness! I have a second generation 20gb iPod as well so I can use it to backup most of my mp3's but I can use the 4gb iPod mini to take some (1000 or so) songs with me where ever I go. It's seriously smaller than my cell phone, whereas the normal ipods, while small, definintly have a footprint when in your pocket. Oh and they come in colors! Even though I got silver.. aesthetics mean a lot to some people. The mini is the future direction of the ipod im guessing, it'll get a bigger HD in the future and probably a/v capabilities... but for now I like my small pod It fits in my car a heck of a lot better and I like their implimentation of the scroll wheel/buttons better than any previous incarnation of the ipod. So yeah, its fun.

Time to resurrect this thread since Christmas is fastly approaching.I've been thinking about maybe getting my boyfriend an iPod as his birthday/ Christmas gift (but buying directly from the Apple store is out of the question seeing that I can barely make the bills/ rent). I was wondering if the prices still stand when this post was created, or if there was an update for prices on iPod minis and the 20gb. Much thanks Norm! --Christy

I am certain I would have been able to get it or something close... The best deal I have hooked recently was was a Nikon D-70 with a KICK ASS lens for $950. The lens alone retailed for $700, and the camera $1250...I can get almost anything in the realm of Macintosh, a lot of cameras, (Video and Still) and recently I found out I have access to other stuff. I am checking into an LCD television right now, not sure if I can get it though... also note: Please use normstock (at) gmail (dot) com for orders, it will be easier than the e-mail linked here. On the godisdead mail account, I receive around 300 Spam messages a day. Thanks ebay

The new-fangled iPods are the EXACT SAME as the Apple version. Apple makes them and slaps the HP logo on it, in exchange Apple makes a lot of money and HP doesn't have to bother itself with competing in the MP3 market. They just sell an apple product to the ignorant PC user...In regard to the support issue... The difference is this, support for the HP version is not handled through the delightful and helpful (As well as award winning) Apple Support Team, it is handled through HP which would be similar to trying to get your Mercedes fixed at a Kia dealer... I don't know why HP decided this, it may have to do with them having their logo on it... I mean, I don't think you have to call Seagate if you have a problem with your new harddrive in an HP, I think HP support handles that too... As for iTunes, it should be the same, as it is just a different download page on the apple site... http://www.apple.com/itunes/hp/download/ With that said, I don't know if, because it says for HP or Compaq, it is a different variation of the program, and then it wouldn't work with the standard Windows iTunes I have no idea. I think that would be a retarded business strategy for HP, but no sweat off Apple's back...

It was made for the website, but this is the same site that had a pencil drawing of the new iMac G5 posted in April and a computer illustration in June, both of which were identical to the final piece Apple released in September... So I rate them tustworthy. Not to mention, it fits every rumor I have heard or seen, and is so damn "Apple" looking. The real product will probably be the exact same thing...Paul, as for Battery life, the rumor is it will again double by June. Which would put it around 12-16 hours depending on use. The "Video" iPod is about a year away I would guess. (Photo iPod took a little over 8 months)

I was at the Apple store today and no, there was no color screen on the new mini's. The colors were bright as hell though, meaning the actual product colors. I liked the muted tones better, but who am I?As for the shuffle, it is a great gadget, really just amazing in size and function, but I don't get anything in regard to discount on those...
